DVS Skate and Create 2009

DVS’s recent Skate & Create feature, Wood, is the second video masterpiece of its kind. This year, DVS took a more minimalist approach to twisting together skateboarding, art and landscape by using good ol’ wood as the vehicle. Although last years montage was truly amazing, I think this one takes the cake.

(I am sure that many hours were spent in the choreography and editing of this segment).

Enjoy!

Vans DownTown Showdown in Torino Italy

Six European skate companies (Alai, Blueprint, Cliché, Element, Heroin, Trap) were invited to compete in Vans’ Euro debut of the DownTown Showdown on September 12, 2009. It was the first transatlantic Showdown and it rolled off with style. The Element team unofficially split their purse with Trap Skateboards from Hamburg Germany. Richie Löffler, pro rider for Trap said, “Sometimes politics go over skating, but then again sometimes the Skaters go over the politics.” [Classic!]

Anyhow, here is some sick footage of the teams skating 3 obstacles designed by Alai, Heroin and Cliché:

And here is some more great footage by the Alai team:
