The Lowcard Story

“Make It Happen: Lowcard“, the mini documentary of the San Francisco skateboard company, Lowcard, premiered at the Skateboard Film Festival on August 14, 2009. Lowcard started out as a independent magazine in 2003 developed by Rob Collinson and is now a clothes line among other things.

…And here is some footage of the 2009 Annual Chili Bowl Contest that was created by Rob’s friend Toad. This year the event was presented by Lowcard and held at Potrero skatepark in the Mission area of SF.

88 Acres of Anarchy

The Skatopia Documentary, 88 Acres of Anarchy, follows pro-skater and dictator of a rural Appalachian skate scene, Brewce Martin, for a year as he struggles to keep Skatopia thriving with the help of the local scene. The documentary focuses on his drive to achieve success on his own terms with the epitome of a skate-and-destroy attitude. Allegedly the Skatopia scene sent Bam Margera fleeing the scene on his first visit.  Can’t imagine that, but it sounds entertaining…

The 2009 Skateboard Film Fest

On August 14-15 2009, the Skateboard Film Festival took place in Seattle, WA and premiered some amazing skateboard documentaries from around the world. “Indonesi’am” was the winner in the category of best International.

Summary: six French skateboarders exploring the skate spots and culture of Indonesia. Check it out:
